What I have experienced in life is that I can make it as difficult if I want.
- Looking for complications? I can ensure you that I will find them.
- Looking for an argument? I will always be successful.
We all know that we can fulfil our own prophecy. The good news is that we can do that for the bad things, and therefore also for the good things!
If you decide you want to sail through your life, take on board my key question:
IS IT IMPORTANT?
It doesn’t matter what your question relates to. A big life changing event or the choice for your breakfast cereal. Ask yourself: ‘Is it important’ and be honest with the answer. Because, you are the only one who can decide what the right answer is.
A question about a breakfast cereal might sound very trivial, but it isn’t if you are on a special diet, or if you know how a breakfast affects you in the rest of the day. So, be honest about your answer.
And then, the next step is to act according to your answer. If it is not important, make sure you don’t spend time and energy on the subject. It will drain your resources, without giving anything back. You might not be used to doing that, but there are lots of techniques that can help you. You can teach yourself how to deal with unimportant stuff in life.
“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” Confucius
The reason for making it complicated is very often that we don’t want to deal with the important stuff. It is too much, too difficult, too complicated. If we admit the importance then we can’t postpone, and can’t turn away from the topic. In stead we prefer to complicate things and pretend we deal with it. But we don’t.
In due course, it makes life very unsatisfying and stressful, if you don’t deal with the important stuff. Because it doesn’t go away! It is still there! And earlier or later, you can’t escape!
